I LIKE YOU!
I often seize an opportunity to share a little kindness. Some music lovers are very different people. Some are just quietly misunderstood.
Dr. R. is a music lover and loves to dance. When he hears music, he gets up close to the stage and has some great moves for a man over 50. Most people look at him and think that's a little odd. Some might think he's homeless. He's not.
I saw him recently at an outdoor music event. He was up in front and dancing with a passion that inspires musicians. Usually, only children dance at this outdoor venue. Occasionally, a few couples dance off to the sides.
As I watched Dr. R. toni (ght, I started thinking of the things I like about him. He's rather quiet and withdrawn with most people. I recently had a conversation with him and discovered a pretty intelligent and gentle man. He's quiet. Rather shy. Except when he's dancing.
As I was leaving, I made a point of stopping to talk with him. I can only imagine what some people might be thinking. I didn't care. I had a chance to encourage someone.
"Dr. R. I just have to tell you something. I sure like this about you. Your passion for music, your freedom of expression, and your dance moves too." Yes - even guys have some good dance moves. I might even have a few myself...
As I shared what I liked, Dr. R. beamed. He had been seen - and acknowledged.
We might not talk very much. We do have a friendship that matters.
What would happen to our conversations if we started out with something like this?
I just have to tell you about a couple of things I like about you.
