I jumped out of the car and raised the garage door. The bird kept flapping for a moment and realized someone was there. When I went into the garage, the young Hawk was sitting on a rolled up American Flag. He looked at me. I looked at him. I took a breath and said a prayer of gratitude. I found the Hawk just in time.
We watched each other for several minutes. I slowly grabbed my phone hoping to get a few pictures. Hawk patiently waited while I snapped a few photos. I switched the camera to movie mode and got about 90 seconds with this Hawk.

I like to think I pay attention to the spiritual signs. Often, I wonder if my imagination wildly whips up stories. And sometimes, I wonder if the signs are too hard to ignore.
This morning, I was talking with a very close colleague. During our conversation, I mentioned the question I asked Mom when I was 11 or 12.
“What is my purpose? What am I supposed to do?”
Mom said, “Follow God and do what He wants.”
I was left with more questions. And a life-long quest for meaning and purpose.
